  • March 17, 1949 Artist Maher Latif Al-Sameraei was born in Samarra, Iraq.
  • 1957 - 1967 He completed his primary, middle and high school studies in Samarra.
  • 1970 - 1974 He studied and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at Baghdad University. Among his teachers were the artist Ismail Fattah and the artist Saad Shaker whom he studied the ceramic art under their supervision.
  • 1974 He participated in the cultural festival of Al-Thawra newspaper in Baghdad.
  • 1980 He participated in the 7th April exhibition at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
  • 1982 He held a solo exhibition at Al-Riwaq Hall in Baghdad.
  • 1984 He obtained a master's degree in arts from California State University in Los Angeles, California in the United States of America. He also participated in many art exhibitions during his stay in Los Angeles and won several awards, including in the exhibitions of Gallery Santa Monica. He shared with the artist and the dean of the college "Edward Ford" one studio in which they produced their works, including great joint works that they worked on together. He held a solo exhibition at California State University in Los Angeles.
  • 1985 He obtained a master's degree in pottery sculpture and glazing in Los Angeles, California in the United States of America, and held a solo exhibition in California in Los Angeles.
  • 1986 He held a solo exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad and participated in the Baghdad International Festival.
  • 1988 He participated in the Baghdad International Festival and an exhibition of seven ceramists at Al-Orfali Hall in Baghdad.
  • 1989 He participated in the Sumer exhibition in Baghdad.
  • 1990 He participated in the exhibition "Contemporary Iraqi Art" in Cyprus and the Ankara International Festival in Turkey.
  • 1994 He held a solo exhibition at the Art Center in Baghdad and a solo exhibition at Alia Hall in Amman, Jordan.
  • 1995 He participated in the exhibition of 70 × 50 Gallery in Beirut, Lebanon.
  • 1996 He participated in the Friends of Valentinus exhibition.
  • 1998 He held a solo exhibition at Hiwar Hall in Baghdad and a solo exhibition at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • 2000 He held a solo exhibition at the Art Center in Baghdad and at Al-Riwaq Hall in Manama, Bahrain. He participated in the Cairo International Ceramics Festival and won the jury prize and he participated with the artists Qassem Al-Sebti and AbdulKareem Khaleel in an exhibition entitled "Color, Clay, Stone" Hiwar Hall in Baghdad.
  • 2001 He held a solo exhibition at the General Women's Union in Abu Dhabi, the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, and at the Bisan Hall in Doha, Qatar.
  • 2002 He participated in the Arab Ceramics Exhibition in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • 2005 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Plastic Arts Exhibition in Paris, France.
  • 2013 He participated in the exhibition "Iraqi Spaces - Joint Annual Fine Exhibition" at the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at the Baghdad Forum for Fine Arts "We Color Baghdad with Love and Peace" in the Department of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
  • 2016 He participated in the exhibition "Iraqi Ceramists" at the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
  • 2018 He participated in the "Clay Tales" exhibition in Baghdad.
  • 2019 He participated in the annual exhibition of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
  • He lives in Baghdad and works as a professor of pottery sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
