1937 Artist Saadi Al-Kaabi was born in the Najaf province, in Iraq

1966 - 1970 He studied art and became director of the Department of Fine Arts at the Institute of Art Education in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
1972 He participated in the Iraqi Contemporary Art Exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad
1974 He participated in the cultural festival of Al-Thawra (Revolution) newspaper in Baghdad
1976 He participated in the International Biennale of Venice in Italy
1980 He participated in the Cagnes-sur-Mer International Festival in France and won a prize from the festival
1981 He participated in the Kuwait Arab Biennale in Kuwait and won the Golden Prize
1981 - 1985 He became director of theatrical production at the Film and Theater Institution and designed many theatrical decorations and was appointed an art director and a decorative designer
1982 He participated in the International India Triennale in New Delhi, India, and won the first prize and he participated in the second Al-Wasiti Festival in Baghdad
1985 - 1987 He founded and headed the Iraqi Plastic Art Club
1985-1988 He was appointed as Director of Art Culture at the Ministry of Culture
1986 He participated in the first Cairo International Biennale in Egypt, the third Dhaka Asian Biennale in Bangladesh, in which he won the gold medal and the first Baghdad International Festival
1988 He participated in the second Baghdad International Festival
1990 He participated in the third Asian-European Biennial in Turkey and won an award
1990 - 1996 He was appointed President of the Association of Iraqi Plastic Artists
1990 He became a member of the international jury of the Dhaka Asian Biennale in Bangladesh
1994 He became a member of the jury of the Islamic Art Biennale in Tehran, Iran
1998 He participated in the International Festival of Fine Arts and Graphics in Mouscron, Belgium, and received a certificate of excellence in graphics
