1900 Artist was born in the capital, Baghdad, Iraq.
As usual for this period, learning, reading and writing were only available through the writings of the ‘Mullah’ in the local mosques and through memorizing the Holy Quran.
1918 Worked as a farmer in his farm, and this was the first time that he thought to start working on sculptures.
He used his alabaster sculptures, he was abundant in production, and most of what he produced was sold at low prices to fans of his art. His practice of carving on alabaster was not easy, and that earned him a professional skill in adapting marble and exceeded the obstacles that he encountered.
1966 Participated in the festival of Innate Art that was held in Italy, in which he presented 10 sculptures and won several prizes from this festival.
1972 Participated in the International Festival of Innate Arts held in Czechoslovakia and won the first prize of the festival.
August 1972 the artist was hit by a car and passed away at the age of seventy-two years.
1975 A book was published on him written by Spanish author Carlos Calderón entitled "Munim Furat and His Strange World".
October 31, 2013 In honor of his artistic history, the artist's name was given to a course at the Institute of Crafts and Folklore.
