Iraqi painter born in 1888 in Baghdad, Iraq, and is considered one of the founders of the Iraqi visual arts movement.
He studied art for only one year in the House of Fine Arts in Baghdad, worked as an officer in the Royal Iraqi Army, and became the commander of the Royal Guard during the era of the late King Faisal I. He continued to paint and learn art during this period while roaming all over Iraq due to his military service duty by drawing Iraqi natural landscapes.
1922 Participated in the Souq Okath Festival.
1931 and 1933 Participated in the Agricultural Industrial Exhibitions that King Faisal I opened.
1938 Visited several art museums in several European countries.
He used to spend his summer vacations in Erbil, in the resorts of Shaqlawa in Khanzad, or in the city of Amadiyah.
1952 Participated in the art exhibition at Ibn Sina Festival in Baghdad.
1956 Held a solo exhibition in the Hall of IPAA, Baghdad.
July 1958 Retired from military service but continued to produce oil paintings.
1959 Participated in the "Modern Iraqi Art" exhibition in the Soviet Union.
Participated in the IPAA exhibitions, where he was a member.
1973 Passed away at the age of eighty-five in Baghdad, Iraq, and was buried there.
