1941 Artist Salim Al-Dabbagh was born in the city of Mosul north of Iraq.
1948 - 1958 He completed his primary, middle and high school studies.
1958 - 1961 He studied and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1960 - 1964 He studied and graduated from the first course of the Higher Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad, and founded with other artists such as Saleh Al-Jumaie, Talib Mekki, Nada Kadhum, Faik Hussein and Ali Talib "The Innovators Group" and participated in their first exhibition.
1966 He obtained an Honor diploma from an exhibition in Leipzig, Germany, and participated in the second exhibition of The Innovators Group in Baghdad, which was held in the hall of the National Museum of Modern Art, in which 5 of his works were displayed.
1967 He participated in the exhibition of The Innovators Group entitled "The Resistance" at the Iraqi Artists Association Center in Baghdad and studied art at the Portuguese Artists Association.
1968 He participated in an exhibition of three Iraqi artists in Lisbon, Portugal.
1969 He participated in the Ljubljana Biennale in Yugoslavia.
1970 He participated in the Liège Biennale in Belgium and the Rakhi Ka Biennale for Sketches in Yugoslavia.
1971 He taught drawing, sketching and graphics at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and participated in the Buenos Aires Biennale in Argentina and an exhibition by three Iraqi artists at Gallery One in Beirut.
1972 He held a solo exhibition at Sultan Gallery in Kuwait, and participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art exhibition at the hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1973 He participated in the fifteenth exhibition of the Fine Artists Association in Baghdad.
1974 He participated in the cultural festival of Al-Thawra newspaper in Baghdad and the first Arab Biennale exhibition in Baghdad.
1978 He participated in the Lisbon Sketches Festival in Portugal.
1979 He participated in the Festival de Cagnes-sur-Mer in France.
1980 He participated in the Berlin Intergraphic Exhibition in Germany and founded with the artists Amer Al-Obaidi, Salman Abbas, Siham Al-Saudi, Khudair Shakrachi and Suhail Al-Hindawi "Group 17 of Modern Art" and participated in their first exhibition at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1982 He participated in the second Al-Wasiti Festival in Baghdad.
1985 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Graphic Exhibition at Al-Orfali Gallery in Baghdad.
1986 He participated in the First International Baghdad Festival and Berlin Inter-Graphic Exhibition in Germany and the Norway Graphic Biennale in Norway.
1987 He participated in a drawing exhibition "Between the Tigris and the Euphrates" at the Arab World Institute in Paris, France.
1988 He participated in the second Baghdad International Festival for Fine Arts in Baghdad.
1990 He participated in an exhibition with an Iraqi artist in Kuwait and an exhibition of seven artists from Iraq at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in Amman and the Contemporary Iraqi Art Gallery in Cyprus.
1993 He participated in an exhibition of three Iraqi artists at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in Amman and an exhibition of contemporary Arab artists at the Darat al Funun in Amman.
1998 He held a solo exhibition at Baghdad Hall.
2000 He participated in an exhibition "Travels with Contemporary Arts in the Arab World - Contemporary Artists from Mesopotamia" in Darat al Funun - Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in Amman, and he responded to the invitation of the Qatar Museum as a visiting artist and made several works for the museum in Doha.
2004 He participated in an exhibition with a group of Iraqi artists in Dubai.
2005 He held a solo exhibition of painting at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman.
2008 He participated in an exhibition with a group of Iraqi artists in Dubai.
2012 He participated in the retrospective festival of contemporary Iraqi plastic art on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Communist Party at Akkad Hall of Art in Baghdad.
2013 He participated in the exhibition "Iraqi Spaces" - the annual joint plastic exhibition at the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad and the first Arab Plastic Art Festival at the Ishtar Hall in the National Library in Amman.
2014 He participated in the exhibition "Baghdad in the eyes of its creators" at the halls of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.

2017 He participated in the exhibition "Selections from Contemporary Iraqi Art" at the Union of Tunisian Plastic Artists in Tunisia and the annual exhibition of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
2018 He held a joint exhibition with the artist Delair Saad Shaker at Al-Orfali Gallery in Amman - Jordan.
2019 He participated in the exhibition "Contemporary Artists from Iraq" at Ras Al-Ain Gallery in Amman.
2022 The artist passed away at the age of eighty-one, in the USA.
