1935 Artist Saad Al-Tai was born in Al-Wardia neighborhood, the city of Hilla in Iraq.
1941 He began to paint at the age of six of what he saw on his trips with his father to the countryside and agricultural fields, and his teachers encouraged him to draw more to develop is talent.
At the end of 1952, in the age of seventeen years he traveled to Beirut, heading to Italy, to begin his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, joining his friends, the artists Khaled Al-Rahhal and Faraj Abbo, and then Muhammad Ghani Hikmat.
1955 He won the Italian Landscape as Seen by Foreign Artists Award in Italy.
1956 He participated in an exhibition with the sculptors Khaled Al-Rahhal and Muhammad Ghani Hikmat in Italy.
1957 He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and obtained a master's degree. Then, he returned to Baghdad.
1958 He participated in Baghdad for Painting and Sculpture Exhibition in Al-Mansour Club and exhibited two works, after which he participated in the exhibition of the Revolution at the Hall of the Republic Sports Club, and two of his works were exhibited in it.
1959 He won the Italy Prize for Arts.
1965 He participated in the Itinerant Iraqi Art Exhibition in Europe with the artist Hafidh Al-Droubi.
1966 He participated in the sixth exhibition of Iraqi Impressionists in Baghdad.
1968 He participated in “the Battle Exhibition” in the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad and the eighth exhibition of Iraqi Impressionists at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1971 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition in cooperation with the Iraqi Artists Association in Kuwait.
1972 He participated in the Contemporary Iraqi Art Exhibition at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1973 He participated in the fifteenth exhibition of the Fine Artists Association in Baghdad and participated in the comprehensive exhibition of Iraqi art at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1974 He participated in the cultural festival of Al-Thawra newspaper in Baghdad and participated in the first party exhibition at the Academy of Arts Hall.
1975 He participated in the second art exhibition held in the occasion of the anniversary of the ruling party, at the Iraqi Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1976 He participated in the third art exhibition held in the occasion of the anniversary of the ruling party at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad and since this year he became a professor of painting at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad and after that he became the head of the Art Education Department and the Plastic Arts Department in the same college and the President of the National Committee for Plastic Arts of the International Association of Plastic Arts. He has authored numerous books and curricula for teaching plastic arts.
1977 He participated in the fourth art exhibition held in the occasion of the anniversary of the ruling party at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad
1979 He was responsible for organizing the joint Iraqi-Moroccan exhibition in Casablanca and Rabat.
1980 He participated in the seventh art exhibition held in the occasion of the anniversary of the ruling party at the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.
1981 He held a solo exhibition at Al-Riwaq Hall in Baghdad.
1982 He participated in the Academy of Fine Arts exhibition with artists Nemat Mahmoud Hikmat and Sheniyar Abdullah in Berlin, and participated in the Second Wasiti Festival in Baghdad.
1986 He participated in the First Biennale in Baghdad.
1987 He participated in the Iraqi Art Exhibition in Bologna.
1988 He participated in the Sketches and Designs Exhibition at the Hall of Culture and Arts Palace.
1990 He won the Distinguished Designer Award for the play "Oedipus, The King" from the Iraqi Theater Center.
1991 He participated in the exhibition of the contemporary Iraqi artist held by the International Relief Agency in London.
1992 He held a traveling solo exhibition in five cities in Italy.
1994 He held solo exhibitions at Ain Gallery in Baghdad and Amman and Hewar Gallery in Baghdad.
1998 He participated in an exhibition of ink and watercolor drawings at Hewar Gallery in Baghdad.
1999 He held a solo exhibition at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, and another solo exhibition at the Hammurabi Art Gallery in Amman.
2002 He founded and headed the Italian Language Department at the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad.
2005 He was awarded the Knight Medal from the Italian Republic.
2009 He became an Emeritus professor at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad
2013 He participated in the Iraqi Spaces exhibition, which is the joint annual plastic exhibition of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
2015 He participated in the annual exhibition of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Baghdad.
