  • 1935 Artist Saad Al-Tai was born in Al-Wardia neighborhood, the city of Hilla in Iraq.
  • 1941 He began to paint at the age of six of what he saw on his trips with his father to the countryside and agricultural fields, and his teachers encouraged him to draw more to develop is talent.
  • At the end of 1952, in the age of seventeen years he traveled to Beirut, heading to Italy, to begin his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, joining his friends, the artists Khaled Al-Rahhal and Faraj Abbo, and then Muhammad Ghani Hikmat.
  • 1955 He won the Italian Landscape as Seen by Foreign Artists Award in Italy.
  • 1956 He participated in an exhibition with the sculptors Khaled Al-Rahhal and Muhammad Ghani Hikmat in Italy.
  • 1957 He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and obtained a master's degree. Then, he returned to Baghdad.
  • 1958 He participated in Baghdad for Painting and Sculpture Exhibition in Al-Mansour Club and exhibited two works, after which he participated in the exhibition of the Revolution at the Hall of the Republic Sports Club, and two of his works were exhibited in it.
  • 1959 He won the Italy Prize for Arts.
  • 1965 He participated in the Itinerant Iraqi Art Exhibition in Europe with the artist Hafidh Al-Droubi.
  • 1966 He participated in the sixth exhibition of Iraqi Impressionists in Baghdad.
  • 1968 He participated in “the Battle Exhibition” in the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad and the eighth exhibition of Iraqi Impressionists at the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad.

He has authored numerous books and curricula for teaching plastic arts.
