- 1965 Yemeni painter Hakim Al-Akel was born in Taiz, Yemen.
- 1987 - 1994 Obtained MA from Moscow State Academy, specializing in Fresco, history and concepts of arts.
- 1986 Co-founded the Yemeni Plastic Artists Association.
- 1990 Joined the administrative board of the Yemeni Student Council in Moscow, Russia.
- 1997 President of the Yemeni Plastic Artists Union.
- Participated in many group exhibitions and held many solo exhibitions in Yemen and abroad, especially in Amman.
- Currently lives and works in Sanaa, Yemen.
