  • 1983 - 1988 Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad.
  • 1993 Held a solo exhibition at the French Cultural Center, Jordan.
  • 1994 Held a solo exhibition at Schauer Gallery, France.
  • 1996 - 2000 Studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
  • 2001 Held a solo exhibition at Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics, The Netherlands.
  • 2007 Held a solo exhibition at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, USA.
  • 2010 Held a solo exhibition, “Halim Al Karim - Witness from Baghdad,” at Darat AlFunun in Jordan, and participated in a joint exhibition, “Barakat: The Gift,” at Stux + Haller Gallery, USA.
  • 2010 Nominated for the Sovereign Art Prize and won the Jury Prize at the International Cairo Biennale, Egypt.
  • 2011 Held a solo exhibition, “Halim Al Karim - Witness from Baghdad,” at Stux + Haller Gallery, USA, and another at XVA Gallery, UAE. He participated in a joint exhibition at the Iraqi Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale, Italy.
  • 2015 Participated in a joint exhibition, “Eyes Only: Photographs,” at Stux + Haller Gallery, USA.
  • 2018 Held a solo exhibition, “Out of The Blue,” at Stux + Haller Gallery, USA.
  • He lives between Colorado, USA, and Dubai, UAE.
